How to Get to the Venue

We have prepared a simple guide for participants traveling to Zlín by car, train, bus, or plane to make your journey as smooth as possible. Below you will find useful information and recommended routes to reach the Faculty of Humanities (FHS), Tomas Bata University in Zlín.

By Car:

You can park at the following nearby locations:

Zlaté Jablko Shopping Center (approx. 8-minute walk to the venue)

   Parking Fees:

  • Each l hour: 20 CZK (~0.80 EUR)
  • Free parking after 6:00 pm
  • Opening hours: Monday – Sunday: 6:00 – 24:00
Obchodní dům (approx. 5-minute walk to the venue)

   Parking Fees:

  • First 30 minutes: free
  • 31- 60 minutes = 20 CZK (~0.80 EUR)
  • 61 – 120 min = 30 CZK (~1.20 EUR), each additional hour 40 CZK (~1.60 EUR)
  • Monday – Friday: 7: 00 am – 7:00 pm, Saturday: 7:00 am – 1:00 pm


Both parking facilities are safe and within a short walking distance to the conference venue.

By Train:

There are two main railway options to reach Zlín:

Arrival at Zlín-střed (Zlín-Center station):
  • Walking distance to FHS: 15 minutes
  • Recommended for those who find a direct train connection to Zlín.
Arrival at Otrokovice, železniční stanice (Otrokovice Train Station):
  • From Otrokovice station, take a trolleybus line 2 to the Školní stop in Zlín (approx. 30-minute ride)
  • Trolleybuses depart every 20 minutes
  • The ticket costs 18 CZK (~0.70 EUR) and can be purchased in advance, directly on the trolleybus from the ticket machine (card payment accepted), or from the driver (cash only).
  • The Školní stop is located just 1 minute away from the FHS building.
  • This option ensures a quicker overall journey when trains to Zlín are not available.
  • Recommended for faster connections.

By Bus:

ARRIVAL AT The Zlín Bus Station (Autobusové nádraží Zlín):
  • It is located right next to the Zlín-střed train station.
  • From the bus station, the Faculty of Humanities (FHS) is approximately a 15-minute walk.

By Air:

Brno Airport (92 km):
  • Approximately 1.5-hour journey by car/train.
Ostrava Airport (106 km):
  • Approximately 1.5-hour journey by car/train.
Vienna International Airport (190 km):
  • Approximately 2.5-hour journey by car/train.

Direct trains from these these cities connect to Otrokovice or Zlín-střed stations.

Accommodation Options

For participants looking for nearby accommodation, there are several hotels within a 5–10 minute walk from the conference venue.

Both hotels provide a comfortable stay with easy and quick access to the conference and the city center. To reach both hotels, you can either walk approximately 15 minutes from the Zlín train station or take a trolleybus (no. 2) from Otrokovice, get off at the náměstí Práce stop, and continue 5 minutes on foot.
